First song we have chosen here is from the movie, MunimJi, released in the year 1955. The film had total 9 songs which were sung by Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Geeta Dutt and Hemant Kumar. The music of the film was by SD Burman and lyricists were Sahir Ludhianvi and Shailendra. Kishore Kumar had only one song in the movie which went to be super hit and an all-time famous song, ‘Jeevan Ke Safar Mein Rahi’. The sad version was sung by Lata Mangeshkar, but it was Kishore Kumar’s song that won the race.

Coming to the second song, is from the movie Mem Sahib, released in the year 1956. The movie had seven songs which were composed by Madan Mohan and the lyricist was Rajendra Krishan. Singers like Asha Bhosle and Talat Mahmood were the main playback singers of the movie. But the song which is till date a super hit is, ‘Dil Dil Se Mila Kar Dekho’, which had two versions, one by Kishore kumar and one by Asha Bhosle. Friends do decide yourself which version was the most popular one of that time.

Coming to the Third song in the list is from the movie, Musafir released in the year 1957. The movie had total five songs which were composed by Shyamal Mitra and penned down by Shailendra. Singers like Manna Dey, Shamshad Begum, Lata Mangeshkar and Shyamal Mitra had given play back to four songs in the movie. But the only song that was sung by Kishore kumar is a super hit number till date, and can be found getting played in numerous YouTube shorts and Instagram Reels. The song is,’Munna Bada Pyara, Ammi Ka Dulara’.

Fourth song is from the movie Guide which was SD Burman’s Musical Masterpiece. This movie had ten songs which were sung by stalwarts like Lata Mangeshkar, SD Burman, Manna Dey and Mohd Rafi. All of the songs in the movie were undoubtedly Super Hits, but it was ‘Gaata Rahe Mera Dil’, which remains as a cult classic forever. Whenever we think of a song from the movie Guide, the first song that comes to our mind is, ‘Gaata Rahe Mera Dil, Tu Hi Meri Manzil.’

Fifth song is from the movie, Duniya released in 1968. The movie had six hit songs with the beautiful composition of Shankar Jaikishan. But the one and only song which was sung by Kishore kumar tops the chart, ’Dooriyan, Nazdikiyan Ban Gayi.’

Sixth song is from the movie Suhaag Raat which had 6 songs in the movie. Singers like Lata Mangeshkar, Mukesh, Manna Dey all were a part of the songs, but the song which was sung by Kishore kumar became one of the best ever classic songs which portrays the power of a woman in a very beautiful manner. ‘Dharti Ki Tarah Har Dukh Seh Le, Suraj Ki Tarah Tu Jalti Ja’.

Seventh song is from the movie, Do Raaste released in 1969. The movie had nine evergreen songs by Asha Bhosle, Mohd Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar and Mukesh. All the songs in this movie were a hit, but the song sung by Kishore kumar in this movie became immortal forever, ‘Mere Naseeb Mein Ay Dost, Tera Pyar Nahin’.

Eighth song is from the movie, Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani that was released in 1970. Some beautiful songs in this movie were sung by Asha Bhosle, Mukesh, Nitin Mukesh and Hemlata. But the best song which became a timeless melody was sung by Kishore kumar, ‘Sama Hai Suhana Suhana.’

Ninth song is from the movie, Pavitra Paapi released in 1970. This movie had seven songs which were sung by Mohd Rafi, Asha Bhosle, Lata Mangeshkar, Usha Mangeshkar and Usha khanna. The one and only song which became the most popular song of the movie was, ‘Teri Duniya Se Hoke Majboor Chala’, by Kishore kumar.

Last song in today’s blog is from the movie, Khushboo released in 1975. The movie had four masterpiece songs undoubtedly, but the eternal song of the movie shall always be, ‘O Majhi Re Apna Kinara, Nadiya Ki Dhara Hai’, by Kishore kumar.
